Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Miyuki had been a genin now for a good while and was finally starting to settle down into it. Her days had settled down into a routine of meeting with her team, training, and doing missions. Which is not to say that she never did any relaxing; she'd managed to pick up a handful of hobbies and was slowly making progress with them (even if the other girls her age still saw knitting as something only grannies and spinsters did; so what? It was fun, she wasn't half bad at it for someone who'd only started a month ago, you had something to keep at the end of a project, and she'd already had at least one person mistake her senbon for double pointed needles so it was even somewhat helpful for her as a kunoichi. Sort of. In a way).

Training was interesting, being a mix of what Hyuga-sensei felt she needed to work on and what she could figure out on her own. She'd discovered that she really liked both genjutsu and taijutsu - although she wouldn't say no to learning a solid clone technique like mizu bushin or kage bushin, and wondered if there was a way to combine them better. Well that was something to think about - along with how the hell you went about inventing a new genjutsu (could you even do something like that? Certainly all jutsu had to come from somewhere but it wasn't like she could easily find the origins of things beyond a few mythology texts that tied everything back to the Sage of the Six Paths, the Juubi, and the creation of the moon - which kinda never made much sense to her since wasn't there always a moon what with the tides and such? Or were there no tides before the whole chakra thing?).

With such thoughts flying around her head, she was only paying the barest of attention to the street around her; mostly just enough so that she wasn't tripping over her own feet or walking into something like a lamp post. Perhaps in hind sight she should've been paying a wee bit more attention to her surroundings (even if she figured she'd sense an incoming threat and that trying to puzzle out what a battle genjutsu that wasn't just making something look like something it wasn't would actually look like; maybe if she took the whole 'looked like' thing out of it and stuck to pure sound... was more interesting than watching matrons buying noodles). Certainly it would've saved her a small bruise and a buttload of embarrassment when some haggard looking guy (who also wasn't paying much attention to where he was going) crashed into her and kinda sorta passed out (at least she hopped that was it rather than him dying on her 'cause that would've just been too much like the kind of things that only happened in stories).

So it was that she found herself dragging a guy about a foot taller and a few pounds heavier than her to the hospital so that they could work their magic (such as figuring out who the hell he was and why he was running like the hounds of yomi were after him) and maybe find Hyuga-sensei in case he had any idea what was going on (or at least what her next step should be).

Ah, here he was- finally inside the village of Boufuugakure, it held an impressive wall and a large inhabitants of people. He looked around to see where he might first try and recruit some shinobi to help him, he had already spoken with the kage here and gotten permission- now he was just getting the word out for shinobi to request the missions from their kage.

The messenger's head did a double-take as he noted a girl hauling an passed out large man somewhere... at first he wasn't sure if he should be associating himself with females who could haul a unconscious man about the village... but the better part of his character couldn't stand to watch a woman struggle with such a heavy load. He only hoped and prayed to the spirits that he wasn't somehow indirectly being involvd in some dark ninjutsu or something like a sacrifice.

He walked over to her and greeted her warmly as he lifted the unconscious man away from her with a light grunt at the weight. Hello there, you looked like you were having trouble with this unconscious man... may I help you take him somewhere? If she said something about a church or basement, he was going to run the other way with the unconscious man in his arms and pray that he could escape her.

For just a moment, Miyuki forgot to breath; going almost preternaturally still. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate the help - the guy who had run into her was relatively heavy (not to mention awkward to carry given the size difference between them) and chakra enhanced strength only lasted for so long, but the man helping her out was a virtual stranger. True he didn't seem to be a threat to either her or her village, but it wasn't like she'd had a chance to develop the enhanced danger sense (also known as paranoia) that many if not most of the higher ranked ninja had. Still, he wasn't doing anything bad as far as she could tell, and if he did try something funny with the ninja he was now carrying she could always go on the attack and make sure to alert the other ninja in the area.

"To the hospital?" she ventured, cautiously. If nothing else, there were ninja standing guard there just in case something happened - not to mention all the ninja coming and going as either staff, patients, or visitors. Surely someone there would be able to do something about this helpful stranger if he wasn't what he seemed.

To the hospital... right, of course- now it made sense. She was a good person trying to help an unconscious person out, the only problem was that he was new in the village and had no clue where the hospital was. Um.. I'm new here, so could you lead the way to the hospital? He carried the man as she lead the way to the hospital, she was more on guard now for some reason, possibly this man was someone she knew?

Oh right, I am a messenger from Heiwagakure. I came to your village to request help of your village, we need shinobi to protect our village. I talked to your kage already, but would you be willing to help me out? This girl seemed fairly confident and capable, she had been carrying a man at least twice as heavy as her for a bit. Miroku wasn't picky about who helped out; beggars can't be choosers, right?

The fact was, that his village had suddenly appeared and was visible to everyone now that the sacred barrier was gone. His mission was to gather strength through the land by requesting the villages send their shinobi to help protect his peaceful village and repel any bandits.

Miyuki didn't know what to think about what Miroku (who still had yet to introduce himself, although to be fair she hadn't exactly been forthcoming with her own name) had said as she led him to where the hospital was. Sure there was the lure of adventure; heading in to the unknown in search of fame and fortune, but there facts that had to be faced. She was just a lowly genin with a few missions under her belt and was pretty much at the mercy of both her kage and her jonin-sensei. If they (or more importantly, the Kanetsukage) okayed it, then she'd happily go but if they said no then she'd basically be stuck here. It also didn't help that she couldn't remember ever hearing about a village called Heiwagakure so couldn't even be sure that the offer was real and not some attempt to do something not so nice to her once she'd been lured away (true she probably wouldn't really start to have to worry about kekkei genkai theives until she was a bit older and perhaps a chunin, but the chance was still there). Still the temptation was there, and surely a mission like that would be a good step towards the goal of making chunin. "I guess as long as Kanetsukage-sama and Hyuga-sensei don't object, I don't see why not..." she finally replied after thinking it over a bit.

They arrived at the hospital right then and the unconscious man was taken from his arms by two burly medic-nins... he repressed a burst of laughter at the thought of big muscular medical shinobi holding a smaller man down to give him a shot or something. Seemed more like Psych-ward type shinobi more than anything... yes, even his village had these. Occasionally someone would lose their mind and the only way to deal with them was to lock them up- to protect others, and themselves. Fortune would have it that your kage has already granted permission for her shinobi of all ranks to participate in any way possible to strengthen ties between our villages.

He pulled out a stamped parchment that had the Kanetsukage's approval on it for him as an ambassador of Heiwagakure to seek assistance from the Boufuugakure shinobi.

Please, I am Miroku. Forgive my rudeness for not introducing myself earlier, I was so wrapped up in my village's troubles and fear that you were intending on hurting the unconscious man, that I completely forgot to introduce myself.

Miyuki is now approved for requesting plot missions.

"How do you do. I'm Hasegawa Miyuki. It's a pleasure to meet you." she replied with a polite bow before taking the parchment and closely examining it for signs of forgery (yeah, that was kind of paranoid of her, but she'd recently come off of a movie marathon and the number of those kinds of movies where the young kekkei genkai wielding heroine/love interest ended up getting snatched up by some rival village in order to start breeding their own little army of shinobi with said kekkei genkai so the idea was kinda stuck at the forefront of her mind for the moment). The parchment checked out, but she'd probably still run it by Hyuga-sensei; if nothing else, then to explain her absence and find out what he wanted her to work on - if anything in particular - while she was away on this mission. "Might I ask when you plan on returning to your village?"

Such a polite girl! And just earlier he had assumed she was possibly some evil woman planning to sacrifice an innocent man. He bowed politely to her as he handed the parchment over for her to inspect, she was genuine in her inspection and concern as well- looking for some reason that might justify her possible fears. Mroku was innocent though and pure of heart; he looked people straight in the eyes and spoke honestly. He had no reason to be afraid or sneaky. Well, Miyuki-chan: i will be here in Boufuugakure until later this day.

Which meant that she had more than enough time to pack her travel bag, inform the Kanetsukage that she'd decided to take this mission on, and let Hyuga-sensei know she was going. Not in that order of course; her first stop naturally would be at the Kanetsukage's office to get the official go ahead since it'd just be a waste of time to pack (which factored in figuring out what to pack since she hadn't gone on an 'outside' mission yet) just to find out that she had to stay here. "Ah. I will see you later then." she said with another (smaller) bow. She knew that, even if she was given orders to stay here she would show up to see Miroku off; so that she could give him her regrets in person if nothing else.
