Village News
The islands in Ocean Country have been celebrating the arrival of the next Umikage, Saizo. The long bridge leading to SHIPPUUGAKURE NO SATO has been closed for outsiders because they wish to celebrate this moment with Ocean Country natives only.
As usual, the Storm Country has been hosting the Asgard Games to welcome their Kanetsukage, Cornelia. It's a double special occasion because Cornelia is also the first female Kanetsukage. She has been picked for her courage, loyalty and outstanding power by the BOUFUUGAKURE NO SATO elders.
Not only that, but the Cherry Blossom Country has become relieved as well. It seems that everyone is slowly picking up after the war now. KUSAMURAGAKURE NO SATO proudly presented their new Sakurakage, Altair.
TSUKIGAKURE NO SATO is still thriving on the merchants coming in and out. They have not experienced anything special lately. Their wealth has remained the same as they were not forced to invest into shinobi unlike the others.
On the cold isles of the Blizzard Country, HYOUGAGAKURE NO SATO has still refused to create a free traveling policy. Some habits never change. To protect their traditions, they have even warned outsiders to not interfere with their matters.
Now that everyone is picking up again, who will come out on top?

Enter The Modern War

The Plot

Shinobi have always been in conflict with each other, whether it be as clans or villages. Each faction strove to dominate the other, until only one stands at the top. The strongest survive to become legends, and tales of their titanic feats are repeated throughout generation. Each village sought to protect their hidden secrets, while carrying out duties ranging from animal hunting to covert assassination and espionage for clients throughout their nation. However, the last war sparked an advance in the world that altered the faces of the ninja villages.

An organization known as the Akatsuki harnessed the power of the nine Bijuu and waged war against the entire shinobi world. Each member had their own agenda, but while some sought to provoke world peace by spreading pain throughout the human populace, the true goal of the attack was to bring about evolution and revolution. The Akatsuki wanted to change the world by forcing an evolutionary selection of shinobi with the strongest genes to bring up a more perfect generation. Mankind will be capable of greater things - perhaps world peace will be one of them.

That was the Fourth Shinobi World War, and it ended in the Akatsuki's defeat. The ninja villages banded together in an alliance to stop the members of the Akatsuki and to suppress the Bijuu once more. However, countless lives perished in the deadliest conflict in human history, including many heroes that fought in the war. The Shinobi World was left devastated and ravaged.

Thirty years after the war, the villages became cities. They had industrialized themselves with new technology that came from the war, and led to changes that predecessors have never dreamed of. However, there is one thing that has not changed in this new era: Greed and lust for domination. The Akatsuki have secretly re-emerged and the ninja world is once again at the brink of another world war. The desire for Bijuu, technological advance, and stronger jutsus have propelled the villages into competitive skirmishes with one another. The world will be embroiled in its first modern war.
